Greece

A rather juddery night but slept well after yesterday's adventures. It was quite relaxing to have a night off and still can't believe our luck catching the ferry. A bit surprised, though, when suddenly it was time to get off because we'd forgotten to change our watches. The car seems to be going really well, which is also a surprise. No steering or braking issues. The drive to Kamena Vourla was snowy and moutainous with some crazy rocky outcrops. We took the car down to a local workshop in KV to try to straighten the sump guard as hitting it very hard with a hammer (which broke). and driving a landrover onto it and hitting it very hard with another hammer had both failed to flatten it. Putting it into a press and lying it on the ground underneath the electric ramp with Owen's car on it didn't help much either. Unfortunately the ramp broke while Owen's car was still on it...But it is ok, Owen is still in the rally.
We had a lovely reception when we returned to the hotel, everyone cheered and clapped when we entered the dining room. It was very touching. So many people have said how pleased they are to see us back. We are pleased too. We don't give in that easily.

And by the way, we felt a little bit better when we heard that lots of people had skidded where we did, including Owen. We were just the unlucky ones to come to grief.

We've been watching your progress daily and so glad you are still going so well, such a shame about having to catch up but glad to see you made the boat to Egypt. All best wishes for the rest of the event, we'll be watching. Good Luck !
